Dr. Lazarus is a graduate of Adelphi University, New York, and the University of Bologna School of Medicine, Bologna, Italy. He did a Clinical Clerkship for Internal Medicine at Nassau County (NY) Medical Center and a Clinical Clerkship for General Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. He performed a Straight Surgical Internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and a Combined Residency Program at State University of New York.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons

Dr. Lazarus speaks English, Italian, French and Medical Spanish.
He is a former Assistant Clinical Instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the State University of New York. He was on the Board of Trustees at St. Lucie Medical Center and on the Medical Advisory Committee for the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation.
Dr. Lazarus is a former team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers farm team. He was on the Board of Trustees for Care Net Pregnancy Services and Next Step Ministries and has volunteered for Volunteers in Medicine.
He began practicing medicine in St. Lucie County in July 1981.
Dr. Lazarus received the Legacy Award at St. Lucie Medical Center.
