Roberto Lugo is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine where he obtained a degree with honors in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He also completed a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship participating in the care of professional athletes.
Dr Lugo is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with additional board certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He specializes in the care of sports injuries, cartilage preservation, and less invasive joint replacement. His research has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals and has been presented at several Orthopaedic Society meetings. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Lugo enjoys films, physical fitness, sketching and was previously a cartoonist. Dr. Lugo is married and has two children; he spends his free time enjoying family activities around the community.
